How it works with piles and storage?

is 1 Pile with 64 stone 1 open space? Or 16 Straw etc? And a crate with 32 space 1 or 32?

For my experience, it works with total free space in all containers in selected stockpile, with pile-like stocks counting as containers as well. In my 3200 spaces stockpile (100 crates), I have threshhold set on 800 units and so far didn't see any gnome resupplying it if I had more that 2400 planks there

I have a Stockpile for stone, 3*6+3*3Tiles = 27 Tiles = 1728 stone. But when i make restock Threshold on 500 it dosnt work the stockpile is going out of stone. but when i make 10 the stockpile never suspend

I've noticed today that raw stone stockpiles in 1.0 counts both total raw stone and piles of stone in stock summary menu, so that may be the source of issue. Best idea to check that would be either making wooden plank stockpile with crates and setting high threshold there or making a world in 0.9.18 and checking raw stone stocking there.
