Post save.
 got error log?
Which Mac OS?
 What game version?
Try anyone else's save?
Steam verify game cache?

Would love to be helpful but need more from you than a plain "it's broken".

I'm pretty sure you've heard of this error before. OS, save game, log, etc are fairly irrelevant at this point. The reviews are everywhere. We know this game is in development but I have seen absolutely zero support in terms of the corrupted save games crashing. It's just broken. When will this be fixed? Hopefully before release?

I'm on OSX and it happens to me too. I simply try again and again and again until, magically, it loads up correctly. I'm so used to it that I forgot...

this happens to me too.

Please give us information. A number of us would love to help as we love this game and want to see the user base grow.
You need to tell us details.
Again,
Post save.

I am having the same problem.  I thought it might be the mod I was using, but all my games are not loading.

Sound error, maybe gnomoria has lost access to your sound card.
Is this save modded?
Which Mac OS? Which model mac? (use the apple menu in the top left, click about this mac, you should see the mac type and its "revision" eg, my work mac is a Mac Pro, revision "Early 2008")

Was there a recent update to your Mac OS? When i get a moment i can try to load it on one of my work macs. I have them at several OS revisions, so it'd help to know which you have.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/14c8ck315gxabgm/world14.sav?dl=0

Because i had a moment i went a head a tested this save on my mac. I'm running mac os 10.7.5. Gnomroia 0.9.18.   Mac Pro early 2008.

this save appears modded, and crashes on load as expected without the mod.

I went a head and made a new game to test and it also fails!

Here is the error message from the system log.

Hadn't played this game for a while and I had the old wineskin standalone version.  Saw that the Mac version was now available on Steam and bought a second copy - alas, I have the same issue as others.  The game plays fine, but when I try to load a save game later it just crashes, leaving little in the way of messages or reasons for me to dig into.

There are no mods running here -- and although it seems pretty common across the board, here are my system specs.
Code: [Select]
OS X El Capitan
Version 10.11.1
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013)
Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB

I tried the indev branch as well, but got pretty much the same error, just with a different version number and no attempt to .Dispose().

Ditto, all though I can get some saves to load if I try repeatedly.

I'm surprised others are not running into this issue, but the audio is cutting out for me with every new game loaded up.

What logs/system info are most helpful?  Let me know and I'll post 'em.

Along the same lines, is the bug tracker (http://bugzilla.gnomoria.com/) referenced at (http://forums.gnomoria.com/index.php?topic=514.0) not used or just down at the moment?

This is not just a mac issue, more like a unix-issue.
I'm running Debian 8 Jessie and i can trigger a crash with the same report.

My personal finding are in this post. It seems to be connected to a sound conflict. This hypothesis is reinforced by my latest findings:
I changed music from classic to orchestral andthe game crashed every 5-ish minutes, basicly uplayable.
Every time with the same error log as a result, this afternoon i changed back to classic music and i played several hours without a crash.

It seems to be connected with music or lots of pending player created jobs.

Hi,

I confirm this seems unix-like oriented, as I do reproduce the same issue on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, game crashes during load.
- No mod
- I tried opting in for indev branch and I confirm that I can reproduce the problem on 1.0RC06
- Verified game cache integrity, it is fine
- Did not change music style, volume for both audio and music are at 0%
- I have a lot of pending jobs, including a lot of mining jobs as described by Dragula
- Corresponding log below
