The Lonely Mountain
« on: June 20, 2015, 12:09:04 PM »
Hi all,

its been a while ... i have a new project.  As you can understand from the title, its an idea from Hobbit.

here is the latest file https://www.dropbox.com/s/vrqrhv4r3wqylgu/TheLonelyMountain.sav?dl=0

I want ideas guys.

I am in process of adding blocks to the mountain. The hatch system is to reduce the goblin impact not to kill or trap them.

There isnt anything to show with pictures so please tell me your thoughts. Its still very incomplete but at least its going well.

One of the big things i will try to keep is the armor. want to try to stay iron for ever ... but i think it wont be possible.

on the higher lvls of the mountain i plan to add vines and maybe mushrooms.

Ill keep this updated and add pictures later when I have something to show.

You just need a lot of resources to craft trinkets to send as tribute to the goblin King. And if you manage your worth right, you might be able to stay iron forever
This sentence is false.
I'm a liar.
This statement cannot be proven.

i've never bothered with the Tribute system. Im always stressed for workers as it is to justify making jewelry that isnt getting me more metal, animals, or replenishing my foodstuffs (for some reason prior to year3 i always dip in the danger zone for food/drink)

Though i will admit, i dabbled in the Insult system when it first came out. That was a mistake LOL. I had 10 soldiers in Steel on the far end of a really long spike deathtrap, and my measly insult worth of 600 sent so many goblins/ogres they cleared my entire kingdom of gnomes before the wave stopped coming lol. I suggest avoiding that feature.

Well an update .... https://www.dropbox.com/s/6ohni79dpen3gzd/TheLonelyMountain1.sav?dl=0

I moved a bit away from the Lonely mountain style ... but its getting big :-P

I have an issue with coal ... thats why so many trees are planted everywhere.

I started increasing the value ... the inside of the pyramid will be gold and the told temple will be platinum. Lots of steel on the great hall.

All steel is from melted goblin items.

Also i am trying a new mining style with adding dirt and walls to make it more "realistic"....

Lastly I couldnt stay iron plated ... too many deaths (load saves ...)
