no mining challenge
« on: October 04, 2014, 10:56:29 AM »
the idea is to build a prospering trade empire.  absolutely no mining allowed except to get 3 stones. (1 for crude workbench and 2 for a stone chisel).
starting on a flat or relatively flat land is okay and encouraged since terraforming are mining commands and not allowed.

i've started a kingdom and so far managed to get a basic fort with wooden walls and industries of lumber, tailoring, masonry, food/drink, leather and bone carving.
no deaths yet, two squads of 3 monks on constant training duty for early defense.

I tried this several times with no luck, I made it into my second year but my traders were almost 4 days away and took forever to get me new stone.

I used clippings and logs as my major source of trade, I didn't do much farming to avoid stockpiling too much food.  It was a challenge, but it was fun.
