'Attack' Drop down menu.
« on: March 29, 2013, 05:38:47 AM »
I can't seem to find any way to give attack orders to individual squads.

Example: 2 mants attacking, 1 goes one way, 1 another. I assign attack orders and they usually are carried out one at a time by all of my military, say 2 squads for the example. I would ideally like one squad per mant.

I may have just missed this feature, but if it is currently not there it would be nice to have a drop down menu when selecting 'Attack' to designate a squad for the order.

Example: Attack>'Squad 1'      Attack>'Squad  2'      Attack>All

I dare say that every activity in Gnomoria needs this addition.

The fact we are limited to giving entire squads a command is already annoying. A whole squad is fighting a single enemy while others may just ran past and nobody cares. I think, if you assign multiple Attack commands to the same squad, it should automatically divide that task upon the individual members of the squad, perhaps even by the strength of the enemy.
For example: a goblin appears and i tell the squad to attack it. They all attack him at once and fight. An ogre appears in meanwhile, i order the squad to attack him and they divide. 2 gnomes attack the goblin, 3 attack the ogre. (Oh god sorry if this is already in the game and i looked past it). While if you want the squad to stop attacking the goblin and go at the ogre all together, you should somehow be able to cancel the squad's operation.
That last should be implemented a while ago, as you might have ordered an attack but you want them to retreat, the enemy is too strong.

Oh and i forgot to mention, i like your idea too Beast.

This suggestion seems sensible, however it is lacking one thing: a button to stop attacking is surely needed. Once you issued an attack order (and found out it wasnt really a good idea) you are either forced to stick with it, and loose some good gnomes, or to save scum it.

I'd rather not save scum my way all the time, tbh.  ;)

I agree. Select squad and cancel attack would be excellent.

Yes. Surely we need more command/management of our military.

- Specific Gnome/Squad Attack Orders
- Retreat Orders

+1 for the drop menu
but also add a case (like the "avoid ennemy") for attack ennemies that have no guys on them, like a "mark ennemies" case

Pretty much implemented - I just lost track of it. Scratching that one off the Suggestions List.
