Hey all,
So I finally got a chance to rewrite GnomoriaEnhanced in C# (to remove the false virus alerts). It currently has auto backup as well as the ability to see Gnome Skills and Stats.
Please note that this is my first time writing a C# program so it probably is not as elegant as it could be, however it is a start.

Source Code: https://github.com/bvierra/GnomoriaEnhanced
Executable: http://ge.gnomoriawiki.com/releases/GnomoriaEnhanced-
Home Page: http://ge.gnomoriawiki.com/

Current Features:
* See all Gnome Skills in Grid Format
* See all Gnome Stats in Grid Format
* Auto backup saves in case of corruption

What Gnomoria Enhanced will and will not be.
Gnomoria Enhanced will never be about cheating / modifying your saved game. There are other utilities that will be much better at doing that than Gnomoria Enhanced and it is not something I particularly like to do / want to see done.
Gnomoria Enhanced is about seeing more information in an easier to read format along with additional out of game utilities (such as backup).

If there is anything you would like to see, just let me know! If there is anything that does not work, well let me know :) If you want to work on it as well, just fork it and put in a pull request.

Addons / Textures / Addons / Textures Explanation
« on: September 26, 2012, 01:15:52 AM »
What is this forum for?
This forum is currently a catch all for Addons / Texture Sheets. Feel free to ask questions about how they work, how to make your own or use someone else's. If you made some feel free to post them for others to download and use!

Why is there no mods section?
Currently mods are unsupported. While it has been discussed (however it can change at any time) to add in a mod API, no firm date or release point has been decided on. This forum does not have modding in the name because Robotronic Games did not want to mislead anyone into believing that modding is currently supported.

What is an Addon?
Addon's are anything that work outside of the game but are related to it in some way. Some current Addons that have been made are a Save Game Backup Utility and a Save Game Editor.

What is a Texture?
Textures are the graphics you see in game. These can be modified to change the look of just about everything you see in game.

Hello all,
Since I see this question a few times a week it seems like I figured I would make a sticky topic for it.

Downloading / Updating

Download from: http://gnomoria.com/?page_id=110 and then just re-install over the current version.

Full Version:
  • BMT Micro: Keep the e-mail sent to you when you first bought the game, this contains the download link. Use this link to download updates and then install the update over the old version.
  • Desura: Updates will happen automatically from the Desura client.
  • Steam: Updates will happen automatically from the Steam client.
  • Humble Store: Access your Humble Library and press the Download button for Gnomoria. Use this new file to update by installing the update over the old version.

Known Issues / Fixes:

BMT Micro
  • Download URL Blocked: This is an issue that is caused from BMT Micro's built in security system. If you have this issue please e-mail robob0b@robotronicgames.com and it will be looked into as soon as possible. Since getting it unblocked is not an automated process please not that it can take up to a day or so to get fixed.
  • I lost / deleted my download e-mail: It happens to the best of us! Just e-mail robob0b@robotronicgames.com and it will be located, given a stern talking to and sent back to you as soon as possible.
  • Update is not showing as available on Desura: Desura manually approves all updates. Due to this their updates tend to be behind those of BMT Micro and Steam anywhere from a few hours up to a few days. Typically, releases are on Tuesdays to help keep the delay as short as possible.
  • Cannot download / install from Desura: While this has been seen to happen, this is an issue that lies with the Desura client due to the way they do installation. They do not use the Gnomoria installer and instead they use their own internal installer. All issues should be directed to: support@desura.com
Humble Store
  • New version is not showing as available in Humble Library: Updates take a little longer to process in the Humble Library, compared to BMT Micro and Steam. Usually it only takes a few hours to process, but sometimes it can take a day or two to go through.  If you do not see the new update, just give it some time and it will eventually post.

Steam Keys:
  • BMT Micro: If you purchased through BMT Micro and would like a key for your Steam account, contact robob0b@robotronicgames.com
  • Desura: If you purchased through Desura, your purchase should be generating a Steam key.  Sign in at https://secure.desura.com/cart/cdkeys to see your game keys. You should also get a pop-up if you run the game through the Desura client that contains the Steam key.
  • Humble Store: If you purchased through the Humble Store, your purchase should be generating a Steam key. Access your Humble Library, and then select the Gnomoria purchase page. Near the top should be a link that says "Click here for your steam keys."

General / Complexity, how much is too much?
« on: August 02, 2012, 07:22:53 PM »
So I was doing some thinking (I know, I know, bad bvierra) and was what level of complexity makes the game too complex?

Right now the majority of workshops take the exact same amount of materials (10 planks, 10 stone blocks). While R0b has confirmed that these were just put in for the alpha and need to be changed, the question is to what?

Should things such as nails be added in? Maybe 1 metal bar = 25 nails? For the beginning it could be 1 raw stone for 4 crappy nails. It would take 4 nails for a table? (To me this would be acceptable)

Should the quality of an item degrade over time and every use where the quality below at a certain point has a chance of breaking the item?

Just looking at what the community thinks of this, I personally like complexity but also think that too much makes the game no fun so it becomes a fine line.

General / Gnomoria Enhanced Released!
« on: July 18, 2012, 07:19:16 PM »
Hey all I have been working on a framework for Gnomoria Addons. Currently all it has is a Crash Log tool, however that will help a lot with the development of Gnomoria. Basically when you run it and Gnomoria crashes, it will automatically submit the save game and crashlog to the developers so they can look into it further.

You can read all about it and download it at: http://ge.gnomoriawiki.com/

Please ignore the site design, I realized I needed to get some notes up about it and wanted to get this released :)

Support / [Non-Crash] Patrol Point Designation disappears from view
« on: June 20, 2012, 08:13:53 AM »
So I do not know the *exact* reason as of yet, but I have noticed that the actual designation of the Patrol Point will disappear which makes it so that you cannot remove it.

I believe this is caused by having a patrol point assigned to Squad X. Then creating a new patrol point and immediately assigning to Squad X. I do this at times due to Gnomes being attacked and wanting my Squad to kill the attacker. I can create a new patrol point fine. I can also click on Military and assign Squad X back to that patrol point.

General / How do Enemies Spawn?
« on: June 16, 2012, 08:01:11 PM »
Ok still trying to understand this one :)

Is there anyway to keep an enemy from spawning IN my fortress? I just had an enemy spawn directly in the middle of my housing area and wipe out 4 of my guys before a guard could get there. If I have a torch there will it help?

Support / [Non-Crash] All personal rooms are owned by 1 gnome
« on: June 16, 2012, 06:29:15 PM »
So I am sure it is just a bug in my save game, but all of the personal rooms that are occupied show as owned by 1 gnome HOWEVER they have other gnomes sleeping in them
