Addons / Textures / Please help- Ogres need weapons

I try to do a little Gnomoria mod. Part of it are Ogre barbarians which should spawn with higher level mobs than usual, and carry a weapon with them.

So I added the barbarians to faction.xml.

Problem is: The barbarian spawns as expected, but immediatly drops the weapon and runs barhanded into combat. Where do I need to tell the ogre that it is OK to use a weapon?

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Support / Room unavailable, gnome not using dormitory

Gnomoria V0.9.12.1

I accidentally build a room which had the bed walled off by a statue. The gnome assigned to the room did not choose to use any of the dormitories, but instead slept on the cold hard floor (usually in the rain outside). The message "Kleo is sleeping on the floor" (or so) is not really helpful...

The preferred fix would be to give better feedback, like "Kleo cannot reach his own bed". In addition, having the gnome in question use the dormitory would still be better than sleeping in the rain.

Support / Military pathfinding

Something I see all the time: A military gnome picks up new equipment or leaves the training center for any other reason, and instead of going back, he runs away further (i.e. exactly in the opposite direction). If he needs to climb up stairs to return, he goes exactly away from the stairs.

After some time the training center will call the gnomes for the next round of training, this resets the pathfinding, and the gnome finds his way (usually) to the destination. But until then he is anywere on the map.

Support / Gnomes do not train.

I have given 0.9.4 a shot today, and encountered a strange bug today:

I set up two squads of two gnomes each, and assigned them at two training grounds. But they did not go train, they idled in my great hall. Re-assigning the squads to the training ground did not help. The issue vanished after save/end gnomoria/restart/reload, then the gnomes went straight to training.

Has anyone seen any similar behaviour?

Support / Prospector workshop: Auto generated task

Gnomoria Version

I have a kiln which is set to autoproduce statuettes. And now I built a prospector workshop. For some reason the new prospector workshop has a "clay (for kiln)" task set. Either this is a bug, or I am misunderstanding the purpose of the prospector workshop. (I thought the prospector destroys clay/soil/stone instead of producing it, thus it can never create clay for another workshop.)

  • I would like to have hotkeys which I can assign to different positions in my fortress. (Say Shift-F1 marks the position "Gate", pressing F1 after this will jump to this position.)

  • Some hotkey should jump to a predefined position: To the position I was just before the auto-move to the enemy sighted. (where I just wanted to put torches to avoid beetle-spawn...)

  • I want to be able to save and load uniforms/formations independent of the actual game.

  • I want to be able to save and load gnome occupations independent of the actual game.

General / Careful with the silver

I have a game, it is end of summer year 1. And when I dug into the deep, I ran across a silver vein.

I thought it might be a good idea to attract more gnomes in fall season, so I made two silver statues out of the ore, and put them into the great hall. And then I saved.

Everytime I load the game, I get visits by goblins - with iron gear (armor and swords). Now, my gnomes have copper and a bit of bronze (tin from trades, no vein found yet), so they do not stand a chance.

So what could I do in this situation? Wall myself off, and hope to find tin and/or iron before the goblins come? (I fear the coal would run out sooner or later, and then the golems would kill off my kingdom.)

Support / Game can be loaded, but cannot be saved any more...

I have a saved game, where, if I continue, it is impossible to save it. The screen will show the bouncy slider, and no error message. However, after saving the state of the kingdom is still as when loaded and started. The game did crash some time later, but this may be unconnected.

There is no crashlog related to this.

Game was started and run in 0.8.3.

Support / Newbie Question: How to equip?

I have started playing a few days ago, and I reached the point where I start to make weapons.

Unfortunately I cannot find a way how to equip my gnomes.  :'(

Needless to say: the goblins have a field day.  :-* Please help me.
